How It Works
Should I try to polish it myself before having it assessed?
Light cleaning is fine, but strong products or repeated DIY polishing can leave the finish patchy and harder to correct. If the surface is already marked or worn, have it assessed before adding more product.
What if the furniture only has small scratches or dull patches?
Small marks still affect the overall look, especially on polished wood. A localised finish refresh can reduce how obvious the wear looks and even out the surface without disturbing the rest of the piece.
What happens if I leave the wear and do nothing?
Surface scratches and dull patches deepen with everyday use. The longer they are left, the more of the surrounding finish needs to be addressed to blend the repair, catching wear early keeps the job smaller.
Is this kind of finish work only for antique furniture?
No. Reproduction furniture suffers from the same fading, wear, and uneven shine as any polished wood piece. The aim is a better-looking surface, not changing the character of the piece.
How do you make sure the colour matches the rest of the piece?
Colour matching is assessed and adjusted in person before and during the work. It cannot be done reliably from a tin, the finish is blended to the specific piece and its existing tones.
